ACNE ACTIVES SPOT TREATMENT
Acne Actives Spot Treatment is a concentrated paste for problematic and acne prone skin - which penetrates deeply and helps to reduce existing breakouts and pimples. Ideal to dry out cystic acne and pimples, reduce swelling, redness, inflammation and quickly calm the skin.
- Tea Tree Oil: (at the maximum safe concentration) has antibacterial, antifungal , antiviral, and anti-inflammatory properties. It gathers in the membrane lipid bilayer of the target bacteria causing acne vulgaris and disrupts the structure and functioning of the bacteria. .
- Salicylic Acid (at the maximum safe concentration) is a beta hydroxy acid, differs from AHAs due to its lipophilic nature, which enables it to penetrate sebaceous substances in the hair follicle and exfoliate the inside of the pores. AHAs, being water soluble, are not as effective, and exfoliate only the surface of the skin. In the studies comparing a two percent Salicylic Acid solution versus an eight percent Glycolic Acid solution, the Salicylic Acid significantly decreased the density of microcomedones whereas the Glycolic Acid Solution did not. Because Salicylic Acid has a much stronger comedolytic effect than AHAs on the skin, Dermetone Acne Actives Spot Treatment is highly effective when treating clients with inflamed pimples, cystic acne, redness and swelling. In addition, Salicylic Acid offers anti-inflammatory properties.
